We ended up talking a nap in the Smithsonian, on the floor outside of the bathrooms and in front of the wooly mammoth skeleton. The warmth was just too comforting. When we woke up, we found about 8 other people around us napping on the floor too – looks like we started a trend.
But we’re back outside now, ready to reclaim our viewing position on the Mall for the 12 noon swearing-in ceremony. We grabbed a hot dog and hot chocolate on the way out of the Smithsonian, which took way longer than expected. 20 minutes. The lines for food and bathrooms are just incredible.

- I'm Vincent Ling. Feel free to call me Vinny. Raised in Atlanta and now living in Delaware, I miss the big city lights but have also learned to appreciate the quieter side of life in Delaware - like farm-fresh ice cream conveniently available across the street. I'm a senior at Duke, always running short on time, yet seemingly asking for ways to keep busy. Although I'm a double major in biomedical engineering and economics, I hope to go to law school to study intellectual property law. I enjoy playing tennis, going on adventures, and laughing until my insides hurt. But most of all, I'm a foot-tapping, shoulder-dancing, piano-playing, drum-banging music lover. As Program Director of DUU Major Attractions and previous Last Day of Classes co-chair, I organize major concerts at Duke. Some memorable moments: hanging out with T.I., meditating in the Duke Chapel with Third Eye Blind, bar hopping with The Hush Sound, and chowing down with Russell Peters. The best times I've had, however, were made possible by old friends at Duke and new friends I found while studying abroad in Denmark.
